If you've been in the trades long enough, you probably know very well that after the holidays business picks up fast.
Like a cheetah fast.
People wanting new kitchens, bathrooms, their wife finds a nice set of cabinets, but the walls don't match, that sort of thing.
They start searching for contractors, but the endless options leave them stuck, unable to decide.
Most of the time when people are scrolling through Facebook they are not in “business mode”.
They're in “escape from work” mode. Just like the rest of us use social media to take a break from our work, so do the people we’re trying to work with.
The solution is to get people to look like this:

The only way to do that is to interrupt their mindless drunk lizard scrolling with something that does two things.
Quickly catches their attention
Being relevant to what they need
The idea is to put together an offer so compelling that your ideal client can click on it without hardly thinking.
“Man. This is a no brainer. I’m going to get in contact with them right now.”
So, what makes an offer so compelling it generates new high paying leads for your home improvement services?
“Is This Offer Worth It?”
Your target audience must see the value from the start.
When starting to make your ad, always keep the prospects' wants and needs in mind.
People typically aren't on facebook researching home building companies, so it's best to cater to more of a "top-funnel" lead approach.
Your primary goal should be to catch their attention and capture their information through soft, enticing offers.
Offer content such as cost guides, design and d-i-y tips and videos.
These resources can capture the audience's interest in the dreaming or planning phase, helping you build a robust top-of-funnel database that you can nurture until they’re ready, even if that's weeks or months in the making.
If you keep feeding them with free value and information, it will help them make a decision that much faster.
Say Goodbye To The Tire Kickers
You want to make sure everyone who takes you up on your offer is a potential lifetime customer for your business, and not just someone looking for a quick freebie.
A quick way to come up with offers is to work backwards.
Recently, I just finished some work for a carpet cleaning company. We set the Ad campaign up like this:
In order for someone to get the carpets cleaned in their entire house (your core offering if you’re a carpet cleaning business), they need to agree to get one room cleaned first.
Before agreeing to get one room cleaned, they need to know that your team does a good job.
Cleaning a couch is less expensive than cleaning a room, so it’s a great offer to introduce people to your services.
This work backward strategy works in literally any industry (ex: new roof installation -> roof repair -> gutters/siding -> estimate -> free inspection), so if you’re stuck coming up with an offer that will attract the right prospects, giving free value is a great place to start.
The construction industry benefits greatly from Facebook ads' visual nature.
High-quality images of finished projects, such as stunning kitchens or breathtaking outdoor spaces, can captivate potential clients.
Unlike industries like dentistry, the construction field can leverage compelling visuals to attract attention.
What To Do Now?
Continuously refining and keeping up with your content is crucial for maintaining good results on your ad campaign.
Regularly reviewing the metrics such as click through rates, conversions, cost per lead helps you understand how your ads are performing and where improvements are needed.
Facebook makes it easy to adjust the metrics so the performance improves. Most of the time tweaking the copy or the targeted audience a little gets the job done.
Facebook Ads can be a powerful tool for contractors when used strategically. By understanding user intent, setting clear goals, and continuously optimizing your campaigns, you can effectively capture leads and grow your business.
